Loren King obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Government with a minor in History from the University of Texas at Austin in 2008. In 2011, Loren graduated from South Texas College of Law in Houston, Texas. Following his graduation from law school, Loren obtained experience in real property records by running title opinions in Tyler, Texas before joining the Fluor Corporation. Loren began his career drafting, negotiating, and administering complex multi-part contracts with the Fluor Corporation. This work included the review, drafting, and negotiation of contracts for the building and installation of billion-dollar hydro-carbon crackers and air separation units.
Following his time with Fluor, Loren began his own firm and worked as of counsel practicing both litigation and transactional law in the fields of securities fraud, breach of contract, partnership/corporate disputes, trademark infringement, copyright infringement, real property, landlord/tenant matters, bankruptcy, trusts and estate planning, etc. Following a short stent as of counsel, Loren was brought on as transactional and litigation associate, and eventually lead litigation attorney and partner of The Spencer Law Firm. Following ten years of work with The Spencer Law Firm, Loren joined Hirsch & Westheimer.
This opportunity to work as a transactional attorney as well as a litigation attorney provided Loren with extensive expertise in the drafting and interpretation of contracts and how these contracts stand up to the crucible of litigation. As such, Loren participates in complex and intensive contract litigation where the interpretation of contracts and their interaction with other operative agreements can drastically affect prospective outcomes. Loren pursues his clients’ cases with dogged zeal, so much so that he has made opposing counsels cry and had witnesses request the court to order Loren to stay seated when asking questions as he was “intimidating.” The court did not oblige.
In his litigation practice, Loren prosecutes and defends cases involving, but not limited to: breach of contract, securities fraud, copyright infringement, trademark infringement, common law fraud, bank fraud, breach of warranty, breach of fiduciary duty, Texas Uniform Fraudulent Transfers Act, deceptive trade practices act, federal and state statutory securities fraud, and bankruptcy.
