Lakia’ S. McCline is an associate attorney in Houston, Texas, whose practice focuses on general commercial litigation.
She assists clients with a broad range of disputes, including contractual, financial, construction, employment, and business-related matters. Lakia’ supports all phases of litigation, including case evaluation, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation, and is committed to developing strategic, practical solutions tailored to her clients’ needs.
Lakia’ began her legal career working in bankruptcy and creditors’ rights matters, where she developed a strong foundation in financial disputes, statutory interpretation, and procedural strategy. She later served as a Senior Associate advising businesses on federal tax credits and incentives, regulatory compliance, and risk analysis across multiple industries, providing her with valuable insight into business operations and risk management.
Lakia’ earned her LL.M. in International Law from the University of Houston Law Center and her Juris Doctor from Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, where she served as Editor-in-Chief of the Journal on Gender, Race, and Justice. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Alabama A&M University.
Outside of her legal practice, Lakia’ enjoys traveling, attending Pilates, and baking. She values journaling as a tool for reflection and personal growth. She is also a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, where she is committed to community service and civic engagement.
