As you probably know, this past weekend Houston suffered a direct hit by Hurricane Ike. Fortunately, our offices in downtown Houston sustained no major damage. However, downtown Houston was severely affected, and it will be some time before streets and traffic lights are functioning normally again. Rest assured all of our data, files and electronic files are secure. Our servers are up and running, and our phones are working.
Personally, at home, most of our attorneys and staff are without electricity, and many are without phone and internet service. Most cell phones are working. At the moment most are coping with their personal situations by making sure they have food, water and gas for their families. Local officials are saying it will be several days before electricity is widely restored. Accordingly, we ask you to bear with us until we get back to work in a somewhat normal manner.
Nevertheless, almost all of our attorneys are making it to the office for at least part of each day and/or working remotely. Therefore, in the meantime, if you need anything, contact us and we will do whatever we can to assist you.
Finally, we hope that Hurricane Ike has not materially affected you and that you and those close to you return to pre-Ike conditions as soon as possible.
